Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design

The Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design is affiliated with the NSDCC. Our brief was to make a site related to the Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council (see below). The idea was "same party different dress". This was the result.

The staff also update the site themselves with new images and text. The site is maintained regularly by Innovative Imaging Studio staff.

Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council

The Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council is an active part of the arts community in the province. Their site had been designed and constructed and then had been updated using a variety of different editing softwares making the site unstable and not consistent across different browsers and platforms.

Our brief was to clean up the site and put it back in working order. The staff now update the site themselves on a weekly basis, safely and correctly. The site is maintained regularly by Innovative Imaging Studio staff.

The Art of Relaxation - Valley Massage Therapy and the Art of Heather Alexis Porter

Massage Therapist and artist proprietor Heather Alexis Porter wanted a site that reflected the calm, relaxing and artistic ambiance of her clinic in Kentville, Nova Scotia. While she is too busy to spend much time on the site, she did want us to incude a 'blog' type page of her current work that she would be able to update herself.

The gallery page is a dynamic collection of Heather Alexis' work and the colours of the site were chosen from those she likes to paint with, so there is a pleasing harmony with her work and the overall site design.

Steven Kennard Woodturner and Furniture Maker

Steve Kennard is an award-winning woodturner and furniture maker who uses the site as a showcase for his work. As our photographer, he was able to provide first class photographs of his work to reduce for web use. These show his work to best advantage and have resulted in international recognition and sales.

Light Through Studio

Dick Groot is a Photographer based in Nova Scotia, Canada. We worked closely with him to create just the right feel for his site that would reflect the sensitivity of his photography. The top left logo reflects the theme of 'Light Through' and it is subtly re-created using the navigation buttons throughout the pages.

Why Women Smoke

The Author of the book "Playing with Fire" wanted a web page that directed those interested in this issue to the publisher's website. The site was to be a teaser for the book. The design was to reflect the book design (by the publisher).

Hunter Street Silver

Jennifer, at Hunter Street Silver makes wonderful pieces of jewellery using old silverplate silverware. Her site was to be fun and quirky, and ease of navigation was high on the list of priorities.

Glowing Embers Dichroic Jewellery

Gail at Glass with Class had a specific mandate for me, with regard to the design of this website.

She had created a line of jewellery using the wonderful medium of dichroic glass. The site is specifically for wholesalers to be able to see the regular lines of jewellery and the new season's colours. She wanted the site to look elegant, clean and simple, reflecting the quality of the product. Once the site was completed, the owners update the content themselves, keeping the site current and interesting to their customers.
